Trsitan Dallas and Georgia Eade of Mancell Financial Group join this episode of “What’s the Risk” to discuss two SMSF disaster stories they’ve recently seen.
In one case, an accountant convinced a couple to set up an SMSF, full of high risk investments. In the other case, the investors were initially cold called for a super “heath check”, before being put into one property fund. In both cases, the investments are in serious doubt, and ASIC is now involved.
We finish up by looking at justifiable cases for an SMSF because there certainly are some good reasons, but they are specific, and SMSFs are not for everyone.
